With March Madness around the corner, many people will be headed to Las Vegas. If you want to make money while you’re there, you should play blackjack. Over time you will make money in blackjack if you count cards. I go into to detail in my e book How to Win Money Playing Blackjack
Here are a few tips directly from the book:
WITHOUT A DOUBT, YOU CAN MAKE MONEY IN A CASINO PLAYING BLACKJACK
You understand the phrase “the house always wins” correct? So it makes sense that the house/casino wants players to come in and gamble. But suppose the casino doesn’t want players to come in? or makes people stop playing?
THE LAST TIME I CHECKED, A CASINO WILL NOT LET PLAYERS COUNT CARDS!
If you’re caught counting cards, you will be asked to play another game, flat bet, or maybe even asked to leave the property. The single most important thing you need to know about Blackjack is that if a casino notices you counting cards, they will ask you to stop playing blackjack. Now a days, they will ask you to play any other game, but sometimes you will be asked to leave the property.
You don’t have to watch this video from www.blackjackapprenticeship.com if you don’t want to but it says its showing a card counter getting caught. Just like all the internet videos of guys picking up women, this video looks staged and fake. (I can’t imagine a casino would let you film the play) But, it’s a good idea of what its like when you’re caught counting cards. Although its never that dramatic.
***** YOU WILL MAKE MONEY IN BLACKJACK IF YOU COUNT CARDS *****
In my book How To Win Playing Blackjack there’s a lot of time spent on proving you can make money counting cards because leaning how to count cards takes some effort, and blackjack can be frustrating. It’s frustrating because sometimes you do lose even when your counting cards. But you must know in the end, the card counter has the advantage. It’s kinda like the player is now the casino – you have the advantage, but sometimes the casino gets lucky and beats you.
Another reason you can make money in blackjack is because of the rule changes. First, THE CUT CARD prevents blackjack from being a virtual guaranteed winning game. The “Cut Card” is the plastic card inserted near the back of the cards before play begins. Nowadays, it’s usually placed about 1/3 from the end of the shoe, or deck. With the “Cut Card, nobody can know for sure what the last couple of cards are because the casino never gets to the end of the deck. So even if you know there are bunches of 10s, face cards, and Aces left, if they are behind the cut card it makes no difference.
In contrast – assume there is no cut card in a single deck blackjack game and the casino dealt every card. The card counters would know almost exactly what the last couple of cards are and bet accordingly. You would easily become rich.
The Cut card is probably the most critical limitation of blackjack. In fact, cut card placement is one of the most important consideration when deciding whether to play at a particular table or casino (table rules are the most important – NEVER PLAY A 6:5 GAME!)
BONUS TIP: Casinos also try to prevent card counting by adding in decks. (many casinos Blackjack tables use 6 or 8 decks). But this is really a case of cutting your nose to spite your face. Most people will lose money gambling, the more hands that are dealt, the more money the casino should make, therefore, anything that slows down the game is bad for the casino. Dealing through 312 cards (6 decks) is much slower than 1 or 2 decks. But since it is less efficient to count cards with 6 decks, most casinos now have 6 or 8 decks.
The only point of this post is that counting cards in Blackjack will absolutely make you money or else the casino wouldn’t spend so much time and energy trying to stop it.
